DAY 2: ACCRA CITY TOUR & SIGHTSEEING

Full day Accra City Tour.

  • Visit Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum, WEB Du Bois Centre, Makola Market, drive through Old Accra – Jamestown (British Accra) & Dutch Accra. Drive around the Independence Arch, Black Star Square and shop at the Arts and Craft Market.

DAY 3: TRADITIONAL BEADS & CHIEF PALACE VISIT

Depart Accra for

DAY 4: ACCRA – ASANTE KINGDOM TOUR

DAY 5: KUMASI CITY TOUR & CRAFTS VILLAGES

Experience Asante craftmanship by visiting some of the

  • Ashanti Craft villages– Bonwire/Adanwomse (Kente Weaving village), Ntonsu (Adinkra Village), Ahwiaa (Wood carving Village).
  • National Cultural Centre, Prempeh II Jubilee Museum, the Okomfo Anokye Sword and the Kumasi Central Market – the largest open-air market in West Africa.

DAY 6: KUMASI – ELMINA & ASSIN MANSO SLAVE RIVER AND MARKET

Breakfast and hotel checkout

Depart Kumasi to Elmina with a stop at Assin Manso

  • Visit the DONKO NSUO (the slave river) where the African captiveswere allowed to take their last bath in waters of their native land before transported to the slave dungeons for shipment

See also the burial site of the remains of two ancestors and a third exhumed from New York’s Wall Street & Kingston Jamaica and re-interred on the Emancipation Day 1998. The third ancestor was also brought and interred by the Prime Minister of Barbados in November 2019 as part of the “YEAR OF RETURN” GHANA 2019.

  • Visit the Elmina Castlea UNESCO Heritage Site. The first and oldest European structure built of any substance on African soil; built by the Portuguese in 1482. Go on a comprehensive guided tour of the castle and see the slave dungeons and condemn cells where enslaved Africans who attempted to escape were incarcerated.

DAY 7: RAINFORESTS & CAPE COAST DUNGEONS

  • Visit the Kakum National Parkand go on a hike in the forest to experience the canopy walkway suspended 100ft from the forest ground.
  • Cape Coast Castlea UNESCO Heritage Site which was originally started by the Swedes in 1652. for a comprehensive guided tour of the Castle, the slave dungeons

DAY 8: LEISURE ON THE BEACH
